Morpho [OC REFS] — Description
This is my son Morpho, he has every disease

The Story:
An ugly duckling-esque dragon, but if it were a little sad. His father was so certain he'd grow beautiful blue wings when he underwent Metamorphosis that he named his dragonet Morpho, after the blue butterfly. Morpho grew up without a mother, which his father never quite got over. She was only his mother because of a breeding program, and was moved by Queen Wasp as soon as his egg was laid, but Morpho's father was genuinely in love with her. She had the most beautiful blue scales, he said. Morpho, who had his father's drab brown and white, never knew quite what to say about that.
Then Morpho hit Metamorphosis, and fire came from his wrists. He woke up deep underground, with drab white wings, and a new, rare ability: flamesilk. His mother had died a long time ago, when Queen Wasp's constant demand for new flamesilks and her poor health from spending so much time underground caused a fatal case of egg binding. He spent a long time in darkness, only lit by flamesilk and the watch of the guards. He grew into a bitter, depressed dragon.
Then Queen Wasp was overthrown, and he finally came out from the darkness. He could fly in the sun, and feel the warmth on his scales. He'd forgotten how that felt. And his wings... his wings shone with a rainbow iridescence, with green and pink and yellow... every color except blue.
Okay, Morpho thought, I can work with this.

My thoughts in this design:
Tui make characters who should be disabled be actually disabled challenge: impossible
I wanted to make a fucked-up looking dude because not every silkwing should be a pretty baby especially not one who's lived underground for their entire life come on

So we all agree that not going outside is bad for you, yes? And especially bad for young dragonets who just finished growing their freaking wings. Add to that inhumane treatment and constant overtaxing of their flamesilk abilities, and you have horrible health outcomes. So, here's Morpho. He's what you'd get if Blue and Luna stayed in the flamesilk cavern for a lot longer. And he didn't even have fruit. While some flamesilks did okay enough that their issues weren't obvious, Morpho did not. He got metabolic bone disease (get vitamin d folks) (which is why he limps; his bones are literally stuck in that position because he spent a lot of time doing nothing but sitting and spinning silk), his scales are dull and shedding faster than he can replace them, and his silk glands are inflamed with overlarge spinnerets. He has several small cuts and scars that turned into large wounds because of vitamin deficiencies – he basically has mild scurvy that was eventually treated by Admiral's citrus, but left him with massive, poorly-healed scars. Because of this, he has a slightly less bad opinion of Admiral than most of the others. He still wants to get the hell out of the flamesilk factory, though, and probably has plans to do some arson on Wasp Hive. Unfortunately for his own wellbeing, he is very quiet and mostly sticks to his own cave when he's not spinning. If he knew Danaid's yelling was covering an escape, he would've bolted for it at once, and also burned down all the hives before Sundew could finish even one sentence.
But. As of this drawing, it's been one week since he saw the sun for the first time in fifteen years. Despite the wear, his wings shine in the sun, and he feels a lot better. He gets all kinds of fruit, not just tangerines, and he's finally able to fly. He can just be, in a forest filled with everyone but HiveWings. Maybe things will get better. Maybe they won't, and he'll live out his dream of destroying the Hives for good, this time with two tribes by his side. (Because who cares about justice. Of not treating his enemies like they treated him. If there was justice he wouldn't have spent his life in that fucking cave!) Either way, he won't go back to the darkness. He and his fire will make sure of it.

He is based off white morphos, specifically Morpho luna
